Year 2012/2013 Semester 2.2

34
Tomorrow is finally the first day of a new semester after a long holiday of 2 months. This holiday was a very tiring and enjoyable one as compared to others I had before. I guess mostly because of OCP and Malaysia trip. One regret was that I was unable to work to earn big bucks so I was actually quite hesitant and unwilling to ask money from my parents

This mark of the new semester also marks one more thing: The second half of my polytechnic life. Like what many people say, poly life passes by very very quickly because of the workload we have in hand. This is very true and with a blink of an eye, I'll be soon graduating whether I like to or not. That's how life goes, we will always be moving forward and the moment we are at will pass by one day

Right now, I'm just feeling really excited for tomorrow to see my friends again and I feel that it is going to be a brand new and difference experience because I'm taking the Nutrition concentration which means that I'll be studying what I choose (Which I hope I don't regret).

So, before the new semester starts, I would like to list down my 'New Semester Resolution' and I hope that in the near future, I'll refer back to this as a form of motivation or something.

1. No skipping lectures, except for important stuff
Actually I've promised myself this exact same thing for 3 semesters already but somehow in the end I'll never end up fulfilling it, all thanks to my lazy bones. In the beginning, I was all worried and troubled over skipping a single lecture but now, I'm experienced! 'Skipping lectures is nothing.' But through experience, I always regret in the end.

2. Complete tutorials and project tasks before gaming
As much as how tempting games are, I've need to learn some self control! After a long day in campus, the temptation of gaming is just so strong. But gaming takes up loads of time and I'll have to rush all assignments after that!

3. Start studying for quizzes a week before the day itself
Something that really worked the last time I tried. Though I doubt I have the time this semester.

4. Be on track during lab lessons and keep logbook up-to-date every week
Through I hopeeeee that there will be no logbook to be done this semester. It was a real troublesome thing to be worried about almost every week in the past semesters. And the thing with lab lessons is that they are just so lengthy and tiring that I usually don't know what the hell is going on and I just follow the instructions and do not care on how to interpret from the results.

Hows life so far in Temasek Polytechnic's School of Applied Science (My opinion):
Usually geeks and nerds come to mind when people mention applied science school. Well... Being in Applied Science school, what to expect are long lab lessons, reports and loads of studying. Actually I feel that the workload given was really really managable but I was really lazy and distracted which meant that I have less time and motivation to complete assignments. The one thing that is a must have is discipline to be on track.

Honestly, I feel that for the past semesters, I've been really slacking and being very last minute for everything (Quizzes, assignments, exams) and these all resulted in bad results. The content may be very heavy but I believe that if we have discipline, it is actually possible to score well. I know this, so I hope and I'll try to do this for this semester. I've improved a whole lot the past semester and I hope it continues this way for the upcoming semesters.

After doing all these thinking and reflection, I know that I'm ready for Year 2012/2013 Semester 2.2. ;)
