It's a normal Sunday and I'm stuck at home completing assignments that seem to never end. But I guess this is what keeps me going and I bet that I'll be super duper bored if I don't have them so yes, I am glad I have assignments to keep me busy.
Finally after 4-5 years, I finally revisited the Night Safari! I don't know why but its like a thing that makes me excited like the zoo. To see the animals or what I'm not sure but when people usually say the word 'zoo' or 'night safari', I just get hyped up. So my family made our way down to the night safari last night at around 7pm and the queue was really long and there were like many japanese people there.
I can't remember the last time I ever went to the night safari only that it was with my sis and her poly friends so this is like a new experience for me, somehow. I can't remember anything about the place at all only that there was a mangrove walk where all the creepy hairy fruit bats are.
The place was... darker than I thought as the lights were dim so as to not scare the animals. So the walkway was dark but thank god there was still like this tiny amount of light from the moon that still allowed us to see where we were going. The pathways looked as though we were going on a night walk. Well... that was what I felt because I was so chicken and scared at the beginning, I don't know why. But then I thought that for many years loads of people come and go from the night safari safely sothere shdn't be a problem right?
Alright, I was all geared up but when we came to this 'Life in a cave' place, I freaked out like a chicken and held onto my mum's hand. She was scared as well and we were both like holding onto each other. Why? Because the cave was built like a real cave with the sharp things pointing out of the ceiling and because it's an environment similiar to where bats live, they were flying in and out of the cave like it's their house. AND, the cave ceiling was not that tall either. So we were just bending our head and walking forward, not bothering about the mice that were the attraction of the cave. Now when I think back, I don't get why we even went in in the first place. HAHA
The thing that got my sis hyped up was... the feeding for the lions and tigers. The sad thing is, the night safari keeper (Idk what they are called) simply threw like... I think raw chicken into the lion's den and so the lions just catch the meat and eat. It was... not the kind of feeding show I had in mind because my sis was saying they would let a deer in and the lion would just hunt the poor deer down and shred it into pieces. We were just standing in front of the lion's den and staring at the whole 'show' with a 'wth' face.
Moving on to the tram ride, well, it was fun and the pandas were really cute. The ride brings us into the enclosure and there are no fences protecting you from the animals like deers. Pretty nice animals and the hippo was super fat and cute. We walked back once again after the tram ride and we arrived at the place that my dad said was the highlight of the safari. The mangrove walk.
Upon reaching the entrance of the walk, there was this guy holding the door open and he was trying to pursuade a girl, whom I presume is his girlfriend, to enter but the girl was simply too scared and she was backing off. In the end, the guy had no choice but to not enter! Hahah. If I'm going to the night safari one day, I guess my bf is lucky that I won't chicken out like that girl did. HAHA. Because I went in. And I did not do it half-heartedly. I swear. I was not like the chicken before at the 'Life in a cave' cave. I just went in bravely and my mom was still bending down and holding onto my arm. I guess when people say that if you laugh when you're nervous, you'll be more calm, it's true. I was laughing to myself (I think like an idiot) and I even looked up at all the big ones hanging above the enclosure AND teased my mom and sis who were afraid to do the same.
It was simply around 2-3 hours and we left the night safari but before that, we got Ben&Jerry's! I can't remember the last time I ate it and it was a good treat eating it right after walking up the hills and long distances. Like a glutton, I ordered 'New York Super Fudge Chunk' and 'Strawberry Cheesecake'. Delicious, simply delicious!
It was a nice night and I was super wiped out when I got home that I almost fell asleep on my bed even before bathing!
