Catching Fire; Titanium

34
[UPDATE] Wow, this is the longest post I've ever wrote. Of course, it would be easily overtaken by my US trip post.

Tomorrow is the start of a brand new week and here I am, taking a final breather before I face all the deadlines and tests this week which, with no doubt, drain me until the week is overr.

Looking over to famous blogger's blog, Xiaxue.bs, her latest post was 3 days ago. I was interested in her pregnancy details so I was reading her really long blog post until I saw what she was discussing at the end of her post. Surely enough, many have heard or seen that her blog was recently taken down without notice and she had quite a hard time finding out the reason and getting it back up.

After reading the post, I can't help but think that it may happen to this blog as well. Of course, it may happen anytime now or in the future. It's just a well over 3 months of blogging and here I am, already afraid that it would be taken down one day.

Well... let's hope that that day will never come. ^^

For some reason, I don't think I would change to another site since I've been using Blogger for years and years. It has because something that has been used since I was... in late pri school or early sec school. Okay, thats a poor excuse but I don't know the exact reason. Probably because I'm lazy and maybe because the same situation have not occur to me before so here I am, so calm and not knowing how I would respond if it happens.

                          ----------------------------------------------------------------

From the first half of the title of this entry, it's Catching Fire. I'm referring to the second book of the Hunger Games trilogy. I've bought all three of the books at one go as I knew I would be too impatient to keep going down to the book store just to grab the next book. I would be just wasting 2 trips.

I am NOT someone who reads books. Normally, the sight of books just makes me want to go straight to lala land. I remember my first ever serious book (Besides childhood storybooks) was Twilight (Alright, don't judge -.-).

BUT! I am seriously hooked into this trilogy. Initially, I did not watch the first movie, The Hunger Games. But I began to be interested when the trailer for the second part of the trilogy played in the cinema before. The trailer was not like any other with like scenes from the movie and blah blah before the title is shown in the last few minutes.

The first step was to watch the first movie. Indeed, it caught my attention and there was this growing interest. When I first saw the trilogy on sale in Times bookstore, I somehow knew I had to have a copy. Unfortunately, I did not have any money with me that time and I begged my sister to buy for me as my 19th birthday present (See how desperate I was, my birthday is not until 11 months!). As usual, she thought and thought about it but I was rejected :(

That didn't stop me though, the moment I had my allowance (which was just the next day), I went to buy the books immediately even though it was a day when lessons ended late at 6pm.

Yes, I'm THAT crazy over it.

I've decided that I would take my time to read the book and somehow with a constant pace, I finished the first book about 1.5 weeks ago and I immediately started on the second book, Catching Fire. I had completed about 1/4 of the book until yesterday.

When I sat down for... I don't know, 5 hours, reading and reading. Everytime I decide on a time to stop, I simply extended and extended. Until... I finally finished the book.

I know the book is not really THAT thick (I mean in comparison to the Harry Potter trilogy cus those books are really really thick), but to a person like me who doesn't read at all, I can say I was simply crazy.

I've been debating on whether to start on the last book because like movies, they always leave the endings in trilogies hanging and I sometimes would just want to heck care and spend the entire day reading even if I have to.

BUT! I've decided to save the entire book for my US trip in March. It's an estimated 18 hours plane ride. No doubt, I can finish the entire book. No, I can no doubt finish the entire trilogy during my going to and coming back journey. But, of course, I am not so stupid to waste precious space in my luggage and I'm never going to manage with carrying the three books in hand all the way on the journey.

So no, the last book 'MockingJay', would be the only one I would bring and finish. Well... I have a strong feeling that decision won't last long against my desire to read it. So... let's just see how long it lasts.

Alright, to the subject that I want this post to be about initially. By the title, most people may have guessed it. Yes, titanium. Right now, when that word is said, people would no longer think of the 'Ti' element in the periodic table but of the song.

Yes, this song has been released on 20 December 2011 on youtube. Charlene introduced me when I was at her house and she told me she thinks I would like it.

Sure enough, I LOVE IT.

The song is the most frequently hummed, sang in the shower and everywhere. In case any reader thinks that I'm exaggerating, I'm not. :)

& when I heard it being sang in the movie Pitch Perfect, one word, AWESOME. Quoting from Pitch Perfect's character Chloe, 'That song is my jam, my lady jam.'

Just today, I searched for Acoustic covers on the song and I love the very first video I stumbled upon. It was just too beautiful that I have to share it here!
