First movie after I've returned to Singapore and it is none other than The Host. The movie is based on the novel written by Stephenie Meyer who is also the author of the Twilight Saga.
I've bought the book for like 2 years already and have yet to read it but I expected it to be really different from the romance type of story like Twilight but apparently I was wrong. The Host surrounds Sci-Fi but it is also equally about romance. I had much different expectations of the movie from how it really was and honestly it was a disappointment to me. The idea of the whole alien thing was really interesting and unique in a way but the movie is too much on the romance for my taste. I expected more action twist but it did not happen much. Sad to say, I almost fell asleep in the middle of the show and I've never did before for any movie. It was the first :/ Overall I would rate it 2.2/5. It does not happen often but when I was in the cinema with my cousins and sister, something happened that was really annoying. I've encountered this before in the past about once or twice and I've never accepted that kind of behaviour that was really inconsiderate. The story went like this.... Halfway through the show, a little girl who looked around the age of 4-5 walked down the aisle to the front of the theater doing I don't know what. Even though she was not making much noise, hey, it was already enough to get the attention of others. It would be totally fine if the parents (who should have a sense of responsibility) walk down and take their child back so that it does not disturb others in the cinema but unfortunately, that did not happen. And the girl walked down the aisle again and again. As a parent, you may not feel that it is disturbing to others but please keep your child from acting like this in a public place. What if someone sitting by the side of the aisle gets shock and punches your child in the face? -.- I really hope that some parents in Singapore really change to be more responsible for their young children. Please consider the opinions and feelings of both your child and ALSO OTHERS in a public place. -.-
