Travel: West America (San Francisco)

34
And finally to talk about the last place I went in West America which was none other than... San Francisco

Basically, theres nothing much to talk about it because even though I was there for 4 days and 3 nights, we shopped like mad and there's nothing much to blog about since I guess I would be blogging in a separate post of what goodies I've got from there.

Overall, San Francisco first struck me as a ghost-town like place because the day we entered the city, the fog was very thick and there were not many people on the street. But all that cleared up when we were nearer to our hotel which was I think near the city hall area.

In american movies, the way the paths and shops look like looked exactly like how San Francisco was. With trees lined up in the middle of the walk way and the walk way was very wide.

Goofing off at the top of the Twin Peaks

We visited the Golden Gate Bridge which was cool because the bridge actually moves and you can actually feel it when you walk on it. It was said to be like this so that the bridge would not collapse during earthquakes and that was actually a rather smart move I guess.

The interesting thing and the most memorable thing that happened occurred at the San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf. That was also the place where I tried out Macadamia ice cream and it was awesome. I don't think Singapore has it though :/

The Left Hand Store!
Had a warm welcome from the store owner
who welcomed me 'home'
Proud to be a lefty!

Alright, to the most interesting thing that happened. When I went to LA, I found that they had this thing on the menu known as corndogs (which are also called hotdogs) but they are different from the normal ones we eat because there is a layer covering the sausage part which was brown and it looked really wrong but hey, its interesting because I've never seen or eaten such stuff before.

And so, I was delighted to find a store selling it at Fisherman's Wharf so I asked my dad to get one for me which he did. Fisherman's Wharf was built using wood and there were 2 levels. My aunt said that there were loads of sealions and we had to walk up to the 2nd level to see them.

With the corndog in my hand, I happily walked up to the 2nd level and I was walking beside my dad who is much taller than me. The sealions were all lying on the platforms on the first level and jokingly, I held the corndog out and said 'You want??'

It all then happened very quickly and when I realized what was going on I was like 'WHATTTT!????'

My dad suddenly ducked and a seagull flew past up from the back. Many people can already guess what happened after reading the previous sentence.

My corndog was stolen by the seagull

Suddenly it was gone from my hand and what was left was the paper plate that my corndog used to be on. So for like 5 seconds, I stood right there in shock. What's more, my parents and sis did NOT notice anything and were busy paying attention to the sealions which I no longer cared to pay attention to.

Not until I began shouting that my corndog was missing and they were all just laughing and laughing with me. But seriously, that corndog was not cheap (Like around USD$5) and I only had a few bites.

Way to go, I will hate seagulls for the rest of my life. -.-

Basically, thats all for San Francisco because all we did was shop and shop and shop! Actually it's also because I'm tired. It's only 9.35pm and I guess I'm still a little jetlagged so... yeah. :)
