Finally 12 days (14 March - 28 March) have been over and I'm back back back in Singapore! It's my first time being so far away from my homeland for so long but honestly, there was not much homesick-ness.
Being in the US was pretty different as compared to Singapore. Pretty different as in mostly the better different.
The temperature during my stay was around 15 to 23 degrees Celsius with San Francisco being the coldest. Being someone who is used to the heat, wearing shorts and slippers, the 12 days was a bummer as I simply hate wearing long pants and covered shoes all day & day after day. The humidity there is also different and my skin looks like a haggard grandmother just after 12 days because it was just so dry.
Americans are pretty patient and when kiasu people like some Singaporeans rush them, they have the power to shut you up with just 3 words. What's the rush? ;) Yes, I believe some Singaporeans should use these words for those impatient, rude and inconsiderate Singaporeans around.
Anyway, they were extremely (& I mean this like 8546510365 times more than Singaporeans in my opinion) friendly. Every shop I went into, I was greeted very cheerfully and once in awhile when I was browsing for stuff, they would always come and ask if they can help. You can never ever find such level of service attitude in Singapore. Okay, never seems harsh but once in a million.
Without delay and since it's still fresh in my mind, I'm gonna just throw all the stuff I remember and thoughts out.
America is like at the other side of the globe from Singapore and the plane ride to there was 18 hours long with a transit at Japan. I really hated the long ride because I simply could not stay still and I was really afraid to be jetlagged. It was fine when I got there but when I just returned, I'm jetlagged. Badly. I returned to Singapore on Monday at around noon and I fell asleep at around 2 in the afternoon and woke up at 6pm. Sleeping at 10pm and waking up at 4.30am on Tuesday. Today, thursday, I woke up at 4am. Wowwww There was not much to do but luckily I was on board SIA 380 which had some entertainment like updated movies such as Pitch Perfect (I watched it like 6 times to and fro), The Dark Knight Rises and The Silver Lining Playbook. There was also Tetris which made me occupied most of the time. Overall, this trip was very enjoyable and I actually think that I'm very lucky to be able to have this experience. It would be a really memorable one and I enjoyed myself with the time I spent with my family. One day, if I get bored of Singapore, I may actually migrate to US! Maybe. ;)
