Fashion: Hair Colourssss

34
Today.... I just feel like ranting all about hair colours! As an asian, I have natural black hair. The thing that always made me curious is that I used to have really light brown hair when I was a child (2-5 I guess?). Like natural brown hair and I heard from my mum that people always thought that I had a Caucasian father. Haha! That never failed to amuse me.

So far over the years, one of the common questions people ask me when they first get to know me is: Are you a mix blood? Do you have angmoh parents? If not, then are ur grandparents angmoh? The answer is... no no no! I am pure chinese :)

After being used to being asked such questions, I actually collected the reasons why they thought so because I do not think that I look angmoh at all. There are only 2 answers I've ever got: "You do not have the yellowish skin colour like chinese, you are like angmoh pale." @.@ OR "You have a really nice straight nose".

I do not have much idea how does a straight nose makes me resemble an angmoh because I don't even know how to tell a straight nose and a... 'unstraight' nose.

Alright, back to the topic to rant. Talking about how people think I'm angmoh may look like no link to the topic about hair colours but it actually does! Skin tone and looks plays an important part in deciding and going for different hair tones. This is my opinion, not a professional's though.

So far, I've dyed my hair like... 5-6 times? I've lose count but, I still remember the first time I dyed my hair. In Malaysia at this shop called HAIRINN. I had this really bright and awesome brown that I can never forget. First times always make the deepest impression.

So far, I've tried out brown, dark blue and red. And whenever I dyed my hair to something dark like dark blue, people always go "Omg, you look better with light coloured hair". YES AND I TOTALLY AGREE. I look better with light coloured hair!

Right now, my hair is like... red-brown? People deny the red part but I'm insistent because although people see me more times than I see myself. I still see the red! Anyways, it's this boring colour and I want to change it ASAP! Unfortunately for internship, I'm stuck with this boring colour.

But nevermind, I've a hairdye that I bought from US and it's none other than.... Medium Ash Blonde! I am someone who loves ash brown and even though I know it would never last long, I still want it! And after trying to Loreal Excellence Fashion red previously, I trust this brand alot!

And I guess I would save and dye platinum blonde on my 21st. Should I?? I know loads of poeple will confirm say I'm crazy but hey, you only live once right? ;)
