Yes, today is 12 May 2013 which is also Mother's Day! Anyone who doesn't know better chiong to the mall or somewhere in the morning to get something for your mum! I think I mentioned before that I've decided to draw something for my mum on this special day because my mum practically has everything she wants like branded bags etc and I'm so pathetically poor so wth can I actually buy for my mum right? And so, just 2 nights ago, I sat down in front of my desk and grabbed my pencil and paper to start drawing... Okay lah, I think it's really ugly and right now as I'm typing this post, I am still debating if I should put it up here. But I guess I am lah so just keep reading. After deciding to draw for her, I had to take some time just to think of what exactly to draw. FYI, I am still a novice drawing simple stuff but I love drawing! So after thinking for a few days (I know I lousy, I dk much about what my mum likes :/), I decided to draw Betty Boop! Honestly, I have never ever liked Betty Boop before and I just think she is just... I dk how to say also lah. Just abit disgusted I guess? Don't ask me why, I don't know also. But since my mum likes Betty Boop, I just decided to draw her for dear mummy! BUT, just saying is much different from doing it! Yeah lah, cus I think it's really ugly. Bleh! So, without further ado, let me reveal..........................:
Okay lah, the above picture is the picture I referred to while drawing. To me, I just don't like how she is in the picture. I guess people would describe her as like cute? I mean I think so with her lips and hand sign and whatever lah. Honestly, the real one I drew this time........................ TADA! Can go run and hide ald @.@
KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS TO YOURSELF. DON'T SPIT OUT YOUR WATER OR ANYTHING. Sorry, I am sibei embarrassed. BUT, I still put it up okay! FYI, I DID NOT DRAW THE EYEBROWS ON PURPOSE BECAUSE I TRIED AND I KNOW CRYSTAL VERSION OF BETTY BOOP WOULD LOOK BETTER WITHOUT EYEBROWS :( So I guess I made Betty Boop out to be like a matured, sexy lady? The lips were a major fail but it's super hard okay! I redraw like 10 times until I thought it would be alright before I used a marker to go over it but the end result is so different! Actually it looks like an aunty lah but I think Betty Boop is also an aunty so it's like I'm drawing another side of her right? Okay lah, I shall stop being in denial that my drawing is just ugly. Bleh! OH OH OH AND AND AND I noticed that, if you look at the upside down one it would look better than the normal one. I'm not trying to make myself happy only hor. To me, it's super true. Like for the Lacus previously, it was like that too!
It was much harder to do this than the Lacus previously for my sis too. Everything was alright except for the hands, lips and and and shoes -.-. I've never drew human hands before because the way the finger goes and everything is like a whole another level but I guess I kinda managed to do it well here. Not bad for a first timer ;) Self praising myself to make myself feel better lol lol lol! So, I took exactly 1.5 hours to draw this. It was so funny because I knew she would be at my grandma's place so I went home after I went out with Jan to karaoke and prepared everything before going to my grandma's to join her! And she was like 'Eh!? You got buy present for me ah?' and I was all excited, running to her room to see her slowly unroll the paper that I placed inside the cute box ($2 from diaso lol!). I bet she liked it!
ANYWAY, to all awesome mothers out there, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! ;)
