Maritime Museum & S.E.A Aquarium

34
Hi hi and hi!

Today may not be any special day for any other people but today marks my sister's 23th birthday! Yeah and you can see by the title where we went to celebrate this special day. I'm sure many people have been there and sadly, today is my first time! So naturally, I was super excited lol.

Unfortunately, we sorta chose a 'wrong' day because we heard from the ticketing staff that there was exceptionally much more people there today than usual :( But we managed to squeeze our way through. As Singaporeans, we should all have the skill of squeezing through kiasu people to survive mah ;)

Because of the huge crowd, the queuing for tickets took around 30 minutes and it was $33 (walau not cheap!) for both Maritime Museum and S.E.A Aquarium. By the time we got our tickets, we were sweating like pigs! The ticketing does not explain clearly though so we had a little misconception. 'S.E.A Aquarium' on the ticketing board includes both S.E.A Aquarium and Maritime Museum. -.- Wish they clearly stated it.

So we headed into the air con museum (I was like thank god lah, it was super hot), I had no idea what Maritime Museum was in the beginning but it was a pretty good place to look at as they have this huge ship brought in and it was said this ship was built without using a single nail. Wow? @.@

They had like olden days displays and they had a pretty Henna drawing section too but there was a long queue :( I regretted like mad after leaving because I saw a tourist with Henna and it was super super super nice!

After a short walk way full of exhibits, you get to enter the Typhoon Theater where there was this super cool show and the effects were really good like when there was thunder it was so real that I was quite scared at first but I remembered that it was just a show lol.

Lol sitting down to watch the show with all the little kids

Alright, if you don't know, Maritime Museum and S.E.A Aquarium are CONNECTED. After the show in the theater, you're led out to the souvenir store which has quite alot of really nice stuff. I grabbed this super cute lollipop that has its outline in deep-dyed colours. Super chio and the moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it! The other cushions behind me in the picture below are also from Candylicious

Don't keep looking at the minion okay
I bought this 'WELCOME ABOARD' thing which is so cute hahah

Yeah, so it's off to the S.E.A Aquarium next! I've not been to Underwater World for a like many many years because my parents thinks its a waste of money but I really love fishes so I was more excited for this part. Hahah

What's with my face right?
I know hahahaa

LOL at how excited I was!

And its fishes and fishes and fishes hahahah

It totally slipped off my mind but when I saw the Dolphin Island, I was totally excited lah! You can actually hear the Dolphin talk from where you see them and it was pretty hard to get a good shot so the picture above is already the best I could take.

Not only that, the main problem is the visitors are SUPER kiasu and they just keep pushing and pushing to get a shot of the beautiful creatures. It was like super bad okay. There was also this lady who pissed me off by holding her iPad and pushing me while I was trying to get away from the crowd in front of the dolphins. Seriously I was like trying to walk away but she refused to let me go and pushed me toward the tank. -.-

As a Singaporean, this kind of situation is not uncommon. So I knew how to solve it. I simply raised my voice (not to the point of shouting of course) and said 'OUCH. STOP PUSHING MISS.' And it worked. I know it will because actually this is my strategy to get this kind of annoying people to go away. Because when you just bear with it quietly and walk away angrily, they won't care about you right?

So you must face them face-to-face and look at them when you raise your voice so they will be afraid that other people around them will look at them in the 'bad' way, they will quickly siam or say sorry. I swear, this method works and it did. She immediately apologized and even though I knew she was pissed, I just smiled and now since the pathway is finally clear for me to walk away, I just did. Hahahah. Now when I think of it, I think its really funny lah.
Sorry auntie, you unlucky the one you push today is me ;)

Why am I posting a picture of a giant hot dog hor?
Let me tell you, this costs $6
I think $6 hot dog deserves a solo photo right!?
Yes, be prepared to burn a hole in your pocket if you plan to dine there :(

Yup for the final finale, its the gigantic fish tank that holds the Guinness World Record of being the largest aquarium in the world. Sorry but it was so huge that I could not get a good shot at all. I was too captivated by the fishes for much photos hahaha.

The thing I love about this tank is that you see fishes swimming in real packs together and they just go everywhere together, just too cute! You can simply sit on the floor, have a snack (there is a snack bar nearby) and enjoy seeing the fishes swimming around. I heard from somewhere before that looking at fishes swimming around can actually calm you down and help you relax well, I agree with it totally!

Oh and sorry for the blur photos as I just realized how much better it would be if I used my camera instead. Bad habit of mine, I bring my camera along but I use my phone to take the photos in the end cus I want to Instagram lololol. Will try to use my cam instead in future!

Overall, I guess $33 is actually worth it for the experience to experience the Typhoon Theater and see all there is to the S.E.A Aquarium. I would love to go there again! :D

But next hor, I want to go Adventure Cove omggggggg. I say so many times already but my parents are super hesitant to go with me :( But since we went the the museum and aquarium today for my sister's birthday, I made them promise to let me go Adventure Cove on my birthday hahaha. Hopefully I won't be too busy with final semester stuff by then. Sighs just by the thought of it :/

Tomorrow is finally the weekend once again but unfortunately my weekend is already packed with work. Gahhhhh :/

Goodnight ;)
