Escape to 'Hell'oween - Horror Creeps Within

34
Hello, Happy Halloween!

It's finally the last day of October and also the official day of Halloween! I've mentioned before that I went to the event at Downtown East and so gonna blog about it right now!

There were two main kind of Escape To 'Hell'oween: Horror Creeps Within (25 & 26 October @ D' Marquee) and Horror Bowl (26 October @ Orchid Bowl E!Hub). I was only free on the Saturday (26th) and only went for the Horror Creeps Within.

There were a list of programmes lined up and let me just start from the beginning. It was a super impromptu decision because initially I thought we (me & Yanling) are not going but we suddenly decided to go again hahaha. The tickets would cost SGD$18/person for us normally but we had discount and we got 2 tickets for just SGD$5! Hehehe.

In the beginning when we were just entering the hall in front of the D' Marquee, there were loads of people queuing for the Maze of Terror (haunted house) and of course, we had to join them.

Oh, before that, there was a booth nearby that only had this sign saying something in the dark and it looked like a really small booth. Moving in, we got our photos taken and by sharing about it on Facebook, we were entitled for the free photograph and a bottle of Mountain Dew! Lololol okay can, I love Mountain Dew anyway~

Looking so weird
We're like enjoying our Mountain Dew so much
And sorry to say but the two scarer-ers look super fail
LMAO

Moving on to the Maze of Terror, my initial thinking was that I would not be that scared because I went to USS Halloween and since that experience just a week ago, I feel that I'm much braver already and this should be nothing! And honestly, the scare-ers that are entertaining those in the queue and walking around were quite fail because their makeup is like meh~ and they were not scary at all!

We were just 2 people so naturally we went in with a larger group of people and these people happened to be like a bunch of younger people. Just before going in, I was a little panicky so I asked the staff and they said it was scary. Okay, the only thing I concerned about, was that it was said to be a maze and what if we get lost!?

It was also the first time I ever stepped in as the person in front beside Yanling and after entering, the group of people behind us were panicking and pushing us! It was super annoying because they were screaming their heads off and pushing like mad. Honestly, I was super annoyed but they're much younger than us so I have to be forgiving anyways right?

The Maze of Terror was NOT scary. There was this scare-er lying on a table and he was reaching out to us but I was shouting 'No no, you cannot touch us okay? Cannot touch us hor' pointing to him. Guess what, he laughed! Not like the creepy laugh okay, like literally laughed to me and then he pretend and began to laugh like a siao man. FAIL.

One thing I learnt after USS and Downtown East Halloween events this year: It's super funny and fun to make a scare-er laugh when they are supposed to be keeping a straight face. Yes, I know I very mean. Heh heh~ ;)

Half of D' Marquee was for the Maze of Terror while the other is for the stage, a side for Crystal Ball reading, face painting and picture taking. Honestly, the stage decoration was super plain with just some markings on the white floor and the decorations were just printed cardboard -.- A point I think they should improve on. Bring in more convincing props!

SORRY FOR POOR QUALITY PHOTOS
I FORGOT TO BRING MY CAMERA ALONG
SAD MUCHHH :(

And I know I looked super cui
It's because of a long day at work and then movie!

 Crystal Ball Reading!

I really wanted to join the queue for the Crystal Ball reading because I think it is super interested but we gave it a miss :( Moving on to face painting! The queue was long but it shortened very quickly which made me super happy. But, the reason is that the makeup is rather so-so. I think the person who did mine was bad while the one who did Yanling's was better. Jealous but it's free, so I didn't really care.

BEFORE

AFTER
And I took a public bus home after that lol

Moving out of D' Marquee, we waited out for the Walking Dead Parade which is a parade for those who dressed up and it was... SUPER FAIL. There was very few scare-ers and their makeup were super not convincing. It was super disappointing :(

There were more stuff like the Flame of Terror show and a movie screening of the movie Pulau Hantu. Left early because I was super tired and had to work the next day :( It was a good time though, because of Yanling haha.

Overall, the Escape to 'Hell'oween celebrates the 10th year of hosting Halloween events but I think it is a far cry as compared to the Halloween events at Universal Studios Singapore. If I actually paid the actual price for it, damn, it would have been quite a waste. The last time I attended one of the Downtown East Halloween events was in year 2008 or 2009 at Escape Theme Park and to me, the standard has not improved much. Nevertheless, not a bad experience with good company :)

Okay, and finally for celebrating Halloween, I think I celebrated it with such a blast for the first time in my life this year! I used to be a chicken but I can feel myself braver right now! Definitely celebrating next year and somehow motivated to dress up! #cosplaytherapyisback!

To end off, creepy photos of me before I removed the makeup! Actually not so scary to me, maybe because that is me. ANYWAYS, HAPPY HALLOWEEN GUYS ;)

I was wearing my blue contact lenses instead of the usual red one
because I had work on that day
