Hi and Hello! Damn, it's finally the last day of holidays and tomorrow would be the first day of my last semester of poly! Seriously, it's damn scary. Hell is gonna start tomorrow and even though the holidays were kinda long (if you exclude the spoiler MP), it's still not enough! Anyways, from the title of this entry and my Instagram, of course I'm gonna post about Halloween Horror Nights 2013 at Universal Studios Singapore (USS) that I went on the 18th of October, Friday. It has been years since I've celebrated Halloween because it always lands near tests period but luckily there are dates for the Halloween Horror Nights just before school reopens this time. I can remember that I was super excited the day before and all. I think that before I start to brag about what happened on that day, I have to say that I'm actually pretty scared about such stuff and I even considered what would happen if I faint many times. And before any reader who is about to continue reading, I'm just gonna spoil all about it okay!? :):):):):):)
Halloween Horror Nights 2013 are open only on 10 specific days on 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, 31 October and 1 to 3 November 2013 from 7pm to 1am. Some of the usual rides such as Transformers, Shrek 4D, Crate Adventure etc are also open. More details about Halloween Horror Nights 2013 here!
Oh-oh-tee-dee
Floral kimono top from NewLook!
Supposed to meet up with Wild Wild Wet (WWW) colleagues at 6pm but you know, Singaporeans always late so we ended up leaving for Sentosa island at around 6.45pm but we still took our time.
And of course, still taking photos on the way~
So glad I brought my camera along with me :D
Light stick bands for only SGD$2 each!
This looks super interesting right!?
But I felt like I'm a bloody tourist when taking photo of it hahaha
The tiny bags at the back at SGD$5 each and the ones in front are SGD$11
Theres also lanyard available but it costs a bomb -.- The label even has nutritional information LMAO
For the Halloween-y stuff, there are3 scare zones set up in total. Firstly, New York zone has been turned into the 'Attack of the Vampires'! Yeah, the name is super self explanatory already haha. All the scare-ers are vampires, werewolves and gargoyles. Some were really good because they can stand really still but some parts of their costume just gives them away.
Yeah, you can see this space between the vampire and me
Trying to act brave in front of the camera yeah!
Ahem...
That's a real person yoooo~
Moving on~ We stopped by for Transformers: The Ride first and gladly, the queue was not that long. We were really lucky that we got there and managed to get on the ride when the waiting time was not that long.
I swear we went crazy in Sci-Fi City. I've always loved the upbeat music they always played in this zone which always made me more excited about BattleStar Galactica (BSG) (currently down and not available to ride) and the music was still the same kind but louder! They were playing Lady Gaga's Applause (& omfg, have I mentioned before that I love love LOVE this song?) when we were passing the area and the scare-ers were dancing to it! And we joined in, imagine that lololol. Since there was nothing much at this part of the park, they included glow-in-the-dark bubbles all over the place. Made us more excited and happy to jump around to burst them. I think we must have looked like small children lololol. Second scare zone was located at Ancient Egypt, it's the 'Convention of Curses'! This is the only scare zone without a haunted house (will get to that later, save the best for last ya?). We took Revenge of the Mummy after an hour long queue timing and the ride was somehow more enjoyable. Most likely due to the company this time ;)
Third scare zone is located at Jurassic Park, 'The Forbidden Forest'! To me, this is the most scary place because the 'mist' is the thickest so it's harder to see what's in front of you and the some scare-ers are really good at camouflaging.
We didn't go for any haunted house the first round though. Moving on the Far Far Away and Madagascar, there wasn't much so only some pics!
Love this shot!
Not taken by me~
Attempt to be dramatic but failed
& unknowingly photobombed! lololol
There was this person who walked by and turned back to look at me as though I was crazy when I attempted to pose the first time LMAO
And of course, snapping a shot with the main star ghosts of the day
THE THREE SISTERS
Honestly, they weren't THAT scary lololol
Alright, moving on to the main attractions of the night, the HAUNTED HOUSES Just before the 'Attack of the Vampires' at New York zone, there's the first haunted house ADRIFT. It was a super long queue that was spread all the way around a small area of the staff back-of-house and halfway in the queue, it began to rain! But we kept going on man, determination for the haunted house lololol.
ADRIFT is a two storey haunted house mainly about the inner contents of a sunken ship and it super reminded me of Titanic. Not gonna spoil it right here......... The only thing I can say is that it wasn't that scary. Maybe that's why its the first haunted house (nearest to the USS entrance), because the more scary ones are usually at the back right? For a scaredy cat like me, it was like so-so. Yeah, and I mentioned that it was raining right? It began to pour right after we left ADRIFT! We totally ran in the rain and were soaked man.
Yes, we look 'awesome' right!?
Soaked TTM
It didn't stop us though, we moved on to Sci-Fi City for the ride Accelerator! Basically, its just the tea-cup ride that people sit in pasir malams hahahaa but we got super excited. Now that I think back, I was really crazy and screamed like non-stop. X.X Don't ask what the hell I was doing because I also don't know. Soon after 3-4 times of Accelerator, the rain began to stop. Thank god! And so we moved on back to Ancient Egypt and then to Jurassic Park again where we entered our second haunted house: SONGS OF DEATH!
Not gonna spoil this one too but this one freaked me out near the ending. I literally grabbed onto the closest arm I could find and crushed it all the way to the end. And it was here where I experienced the most funny way of someone afraid grabbing me suddenly. I forgot who it was but someone from our group grabbed me right on both sides of my waist and crushed me lololol! I was turning around, thinking 'wtf, which ghost so brave I'm gonna kill him' LOL And moving on.... eh no, this is the end. I didn't manage to make it for the last haunted house that was located right outside Waterworld: POSSESSION! :( I heard it was rather meh~ too. So, in conclusion, SONGS OF DEATH was the scariest. Basically, that was all! The queuing was definitely the thing that made it quite impossible to experience every ride. I would seriously recommend buying the Express pass so that there would be minimum waiting time! It was around 12+ and so we just made our way back the way we came to the entrance. Yeah, you can imagine how many times we passed all the scare zones lololol. We totally could remember most of the scare-ers by then.
Yum yum Churros LOL
At this point, we were more entertained than scared!
All brave already!
I think I look super cui in this photo
But this vampire is super hot can!?
We totally went after him to get a photo taken!
And of course, shots at the entrance
That pretty much sums up the entire Halloween Horror Nights experience!
To sum it up, I was quite hesitant when I first decided to attend because I have always been afraid and honestly, I am a chicken lah! But after experiencing Halloween Horror Nights, I get why people find it entertaining to go such events because they are super fun! I can feel myself being more brave now lololol.
Another reason for such a fun time was definitely because of the company. Honestly, I have not been working at WWW for very long or very much but these people are just so nice and funny that it was almost impossible not to have a good time with them. It was definitely an enjoyable night and it made me feel like I really ended my holidays with a BANG!
The only thing I felt most sian about is dear Yanling not being able to come last minute. Anyways, no use pondering over something that can't be changed anymore. THERE'S ALWAYS A NEXT TIME RIGHT!? I'm definitely up for Halloween Horror Nights 2014 ;)
Supper at Macdonalds!
It was then when we actually noticed that we have been walking around non-stop ever since we left for Sentosa at around 6++pm!
All tired and stoning and looking back on the photos taken for the day~
Reached home at around 3am and by the time waiting for my hair to dry, it was 5am when I went to bed man! Can't believe I still could wake up at 10am yesterday to do more MP work before I went to town for shopping with family.
Hahahaa cherishing all my remaining holiday time man. All hell breaks loose tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
