Finally mid-week and here's a movie review. Just last Saturday, I caught the movie About Time with my sis. Well, the reason we watched is because I wanted to watch a movie and there was no other show that looks interesting and the tickets for Marvel's Thor was selling out like mad.
CAST
Domhnall Gleeson (Male lead)
Rachel Mcadams (Female lead) Bill Nighy DIRECTOR Richard Curtis Genre: Comedy Rating: NC16 Release Date in cinemas: 10 October 2013 Running Time: 123 minutes
Summary of the story by me: The story is about Tim (Domhnall Gleeson) who finds out from his father that the men of the family are able to go back in time. Happy with his new found ability, he moves to the city in search of a girlfriend whom he believes to be able to change his life for the better. Indeed, he found Mary (Rachel Mcadams). Despite being able to change what happens, time will always catch up and there are consequences. Before the movie I was thinking that this is just some other romance show like Dear John or Safe Haven and I had no idea what the movie was about because I did not even watch the trailer. Well, just looking at the promotional poster, it doesn't look any different from other romance shows and how different can their story line be right?
I actually turned out quite wrong. The travel back in time thing was pretty cool and added more elements into the comedy part. The casts did a good job portraying the characters and the story was not only about romance but also a lesson on life. It kind of reminded me of The Last Song which is also my top favorite movie. This movie is a mixture of romance, comedy and a moral lesson all in one. I enjoyed it and the ending did touched me. Even though it was already more than half a month since the movie's release and there was only one show timing left per day, the cinema was pretty full and I could tell that the people around me really enjoyed it as well. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend it to others. It is a movie that really exceeded my expectations from the beginning. I rate it 4/5 ;)
