Hello! When the good movies are released, they all come together like a package! More of fighting and combat movies lately and I caught 3 of the more anticipated movies of July. Check them out.
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
DIRECTOR
Matt Reeves
CAST
Andy Serkis (Caesar)
Jason Clarke (Malcolm)
Gary Oldman (Dreyfus)
Genre: Action/Adventure
Rating: PG13/Some Violence & Brief Coarse Language
Release Date in Cinemas: 10 July 2014
Running Time: 131 minutes
Super long movie which is 2 hours 11 minutes. The graphics for the apes were really good and there was a huge scale of digital effects for the apes. It was amazing as it looks very realistic and their interactions with the humans. I've never watched any movies with apes but this one was really good with morals and family lessons to be learnt. It shows the dark side of human nature for survival and it shows that every species have its good and bad sides as well as how similar humans are to the apes.
HERCULES
DIRECTOR
Brett Ratner
CAST
Dwayne Johnson (Hercules)
Ian McShane (Amphiaraus)
Rufus Swell (Autolycus)
Genre: Action/Adventure
Rating: PG13/Some Violence & Brief Coarse Language
Release Date in Cinemas: 24 July 2014
Running Time: 98 minutes
When you see the poster, you'll expect a hero who needs to protect his lover from evil. Well, that's the typical story line I would have thought of. Instead, there is so much twist in the movie. A complete opposite from the poster, the movie is full of hilarious parts and I think it is also reasonable to include comedy as it's genre. The only thing I disliked was Dwayne Johnson's hair because it's so long and flat and well, he has an egg shaped head. It looks weird LOL. A bad point would be that battles were won too easily for the movie so the climax of the movie was not that great. Even though short running time, it is a really good movie to catch for laughs.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
DIRECTOR
James Gunn
CAST
Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord)
Zoe Saldana (Gamora)
Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer)
Genre: Action/Adventure
Rating: PG13/Violence
Release Date in Cinemas: 31 July 2014
Running Time: 121 minutes
The latest movie I caught and I'm shocked to find it PG13. Seriously, the movie has nothing to it for such a rating. Good action sequences and huge comedy, Guardians Of The Galaxy is very creative with ideas like the talk tree Groot (whom is also voiced by Vin Diesel) and the raccoon Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper). I found it somehow childish because it's a cartoon but overall it's a pretty good movie for all ages.
