Hello! Looking back on my photos all stored up for posts, I realize that I am so behind time! Busy with work, going out and of course Japan, this space has been lacking updates. So just rewind back to early this month, I celebrated my birthday with Mookata and Crab In Da Bag (CiDB)! Super awesome food and my first attempt at these two places. No regrets at all because of the yum yums so gonna just share it on ma space!
Early dinner because the place was fully booked for the normal dinner peak hours. After eating the food, I totally get why. More on that later haha. They have a pretty flexible menu with you simply choosing everything to your liking! The type of seafood (bag it), any add-ons (add it) and what type of season to have with (season it).
Ultimate tools for any type of seafood devouring
CiDB Wings
Super yummy and totally satisfied my crazy chicken craving lately
Pretty unique way of serving their food right? As said in the shop name, Crab-In-Da-Bag. The staff comes with the open bag in a pail, ties it, flips the bag over and cuts it open. The moment you see the hot steam escape the bag, you will be able to smell the fierce season served with it. Mouth watering ttm!
BAG IT - Venus Clams
ADD IT - Potato
SEASON IT - Ultimate Curry (best seller)
How awesome is curry potato right? Plus I haven't had clams for the longest time everrrr. This was the main star of dinner even tho crab was also awesome hahaha. I guess it's also because the curry was super good. If I'm going back there anytime soon, I think I'll just get everything in curry LOL. No surprise that it's the best seller. A must must must try!
BAG IT - Sri Lankan Crab
ADD IT - Sweet Corn
SEASON IT - Caboodle Mix (signature mix)
The crab was pretty fresh and the season was quite unique with garlic and obvious hints of a mix of spices used. Quite a good combination but it can't beat the Ultimate Curry hahahaha.
And here comes the ultimate mess hahahah. After awhile I didn't even care about how I was eating because the food is just too yummy. No other utensils given besides the tools (spoon) given. They lay out a thick white sheet of table cover and you simply just use your hands to grab and bite! After tasting the yummy food, unglamness is ignored for the meal. Overall experience at CiDB was really good. Polite staff who looked really professional when they serve the food. Environment was pretty good with the good food. I could really relax and have that super fine meal. The only downside may be the price as you probably can see from the menu. The crabs and lobsters can be quite pricey. And they have their special Caboodle Boil that consists of a feast of seafood that they just set up by pouring them all down in a row on the table for eating. Super crazy looking but it has so much variety of sides as well as crabs and lobsters. Slurp! Should try that sometime! So just beside Big Splash at East Coast Park, remember to make a reservation before visiting to avoid disappointment!
