Hello! Super crazy weather these days, one moment it's hot as hell and the next it's raining cats and dogs. It's just 2 more days before I take off to Tokyo, Japan! It's currently autumn over there with 10-20 degree Celsius temperature so it's like playing/shopping/eating/sleeping with 24/7 air-con omgggg. Super shiok! How I wish Singapore is like that. Anyways, I did mention about Eat. Play. Love awhile back right? From the name, can tell that obviously it's one of the trendy beautifully decorated and super chill cafe right? A plus point for this cafe is that there is a craft corner for kids. Of course, you have to pay to use their materials but everything was super colourful and interesting. They even have the oldies candies that so many of my friends love like popping candy etc.
Some YAKULT ice-blended I tried
Super chill and amazing but the taste goes off as you drink because all the ice dilutes it
Normally what do cafes serve? Hmm... pasta, pastries, finger food, waffles, ice cream etc right? Eat. Play. Love. serves local/thai delights such as tom yam! Of course, the me who loves tom yum just had to get it. I remember craving for it for a long time before that visit!
Sorry I have no idea how do you even take a nice shot of a plain bowl of tom yum noodles hahah
Platter of fried food for Namirah and I super love the chicken wings can!?
Normally it's quite a hassle to eat with the meat in between the 2 pieces of bones right?
Eat. Play. Love. serves them already cut so it's easier to eat!
I think since I have been in the food service/nutrition kind of sector since 2011, I've become super niao about food. Hmm... I think it's also because most of my friends always have loads to talk about the appearance, taste and smell of the food when we eat so I've also become like that as well hahaha. Which also means we have one more topic to talk about when we dine together.
I would say that Eat. Play. Love. is a place more for family with little kids who love art & craft. The place was really nice but deserted at the same time. There were so little people there when we went around dinner time (supposedly peak hour right?) and we can guess that the reason is... the food. They do serve food different from other regular cafes but they are not really up to quality. To our quality I mean. Rather meh~ food in fact. I think you can actually just whoop up a meal of similar quality or even better by yourself at home. Nothing special.
Just saying, all these opinions are just mine and who knows, maybe I was just there at the wrong day or maybe I ordered something that is not their signature. It's just my first try and I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon but I think I would give the cafe another try if I happen to be around that area again. It's also super far from the MRT and you have to walk quite a distance.
