I guess this will be my last post for year 2014. Super excited for 2015 but all that positive energy goes down when I think of what may be awaiting me in 2015 (basically deciding on the next chapter of my life: UNIVERSITY). So here I am to look back and summarize all that has happened this year! JANUARY *Getting my current iPhone 5s! (check out the post here) Which I am still using and loving! I can honestly say that iPhone 5s is the best phone I have ever used. I have tried using Samsung SIII previously as recommended by my dad but Samsung's technology is just not for me. Too much problems with a few apps and activating them just screws the phone upside down. Before that I was complaining about my iPhone 4 but I turned back to that phone because Samsung SIII really cmi. iPhone 4 was not really a good phone especially since I got it second hand too. I can still remember how happy I was when I got my iPhone 5s. I waited for it for MONTHS. Even with iPhone 6 and 6 plus in the market now, I still love my phone and I am perfectly fine with not upgrading it. FEBRUARY *Last day of Poly (check out the post here) I remember the hell I went through for final year projects and the toughest examinations I have ever had in my life. Pulling through the last lap of my polytechnic life, I made it out alive and that was also the day I celebrated the last day of me having black hair (and have I ever mentioned that I hate black hair?).
*Purple red hair (check out the post here) Boring black hair is just not me. I went down to the salon to dye my hair and after months of ugly-hair torture, I went for the extreme. Bleaching my hair for the first time ever, I took on red and purple highlights. And I am never ever gonna dye my hair black ever again because you have to bleach it no matter what colour you want to dye next. Boohooooo!
MARCH *Started off Carousell (check out the post here) I have not been active lately but I love to use Carousell! I've bought ebooks and clothing so far but I find that there is nowhere easier to purchase cheap stuff! Sorry I'm just 20 but I'm still looking for cheap deals blehhh.
*Travelling: Korea (check out the post for Part I,Part II & Part III) Many firsts once again in Korea and I have been wanting to go there for so long! Basically I love their food and I really tried different types each day I was there. Plus it was the first time I saw snow too. Loved that trip and I would definitely go there again one day.
APRIL *Adventure Cove (check out the post here) An outing just before graduation and I love the company of my closest poly friend Huimin, her bf and Wei Ren. Super fun trip to Adventure Cove which was also a place I was dying to go to!
MAY *Cafehopping (check out the post here & here) Cafehopping got somewhat popular earlier this year right? Of course, I love cakes, desserts and yummy food so I started with Jan to Haji Lane where most cafes are.
*CLEO Hair & Make (check out the post here) I was recommended to this awesome salon just before graduation. By May, my highlights had faded off to a bright pink so it was time to have a change before my big event. Finally after so long, I could have the ash brown I wanted (tho it came at a price of me bleaching all my remaining hair). It came out so well with the unexpected purple highlights due to the previous bleach but I still love it so much.
*Graduation! (check out the post here) For 3 years, I've spent so much effort for this cert. Only a diploma but it was a huge milestone of my life. So happy that my family, Yanling, XinYi and friends were there to congratulate me. I would never be able to complete all that without them!
JULY *Yanling's 21st (check out the post here) Another thing that reminded me that I'm growing up would be Yanling's 21st. Next year would be my turn and I can't imagine dear Yanling as a young adult! I've also never spent so much time and effort for anyone's birthday too. From preparing presents to helping out to decorate the chalet, hahaha I believe it's because I love my dear cousin so much. All the effort paid off when I saw her so happy kekeke.
SEPTEMBER *Attached I do not blog about too personal issues but I was attached back then ;) OCTOBER *Official Job So after graduating for quite some time, I finally got a job as recommended by a dear lecturer and finally I felt that I am taking another step forward in my life. Holidaying was fun and I tried many new things but it was also time to go back to reality. A little tough from the start as I lost most of my fundamental knowledge during the past few months but I think I hanged on fine until now. I love my job and the people there :)
*Halloween Horror Nights 2014(check out the post here) Another awesome Halloween with my cousins. We never really had much gatherings until this year and I enjoyed their company so much. I hope more gatherings like this in future!
NOVEMBER *Spooktacular Another Halloween event that happened to fall on my 20th. And I finally realize I have a bad habit of going to such events without taking much photos hahaha. Was too busy screaming away and dodging scare actors. Oh and I did mention that I was going to blog about it but in the end I have decided not to.
*Travelling: Tokyo, Japan (check out the post here) A rather impromptu trip but one that I enjoyed with my family. After I started working and after I was attached, I had trouble balancing my time along my family with all these new priorities in my life. It was really tough in the beginning but it made me mature alot and there are also many whom are close to me who said that they really saw me grow alot during the past few months. Anyways, I love DisneySEA alot and I enjoyed the food the most for Japan hahahaha. Oh and I got myself a pair of Dr Martens! And in case you're wondering, the post is still in development!
DECEMBER *Merry Christmas! Once again a gathering with the cousins and we had so much fun this time! I was actually worried that there would be nothing much to do together but we threw so many ideas and had so much fun! I love spending my fav festival with this bunch of people.
And so... overall 2014 has been full of ups and downs. As I look through photos taken earlier this year, I realize that I have grown so much! The Crystal from 1 year ago was still studying hard to make it through the last few months of poly life. Now that I think of it, I really miss those times. At the same time, I am grateful that the many events that happened this year made me grow better as a person. In the beginning, I was really hesitant and I had many rejections from my peers for taking a leap year to find out what I want to pursue next in life. Indeed, I learnt more about myself and improved throughout this year. No regrets. Things are bound to get harder next year but I will take the opportunities that are open to me. Here's to an awesome 2015! Cheers!
