Hi there people! Lately I realized that many people overseas have uploaded videos of themselves trying out a kind of Korean instant noodles known as the'Fire Noodle'and how it stands out is that it is supposed to be super duper spicy. Loved watching the reactions of the Youtubers and since I am a fan of spicy food, I decided to give it a shot! Here's my favourite video of Youtubers attempting the challenge:
Even Koreans can't stand it!
And of course I am not brave enough to take it on alone so I dragged le bf into the picture hahaha. Poor him usually hates all types of spicy food but he still agreed. A pity that I do not have any photos of how it looks like but it's really as red and scary looking as it looks in the Youtube videos. In addition, it really does make your lips look that red in the end! Both of us did not dare to try too much so we simply shared 1 packet (the noodles are fatter than the normal ones). To make it a fair test we mixed everything on the same bowl before separating into two (so that all the noodles will have about the same amount of sauce) but I took the original bowl that would have slightly more sauce left over. Sort of because I do feel guilty to drag le bf in even though he agreed right away hahaha. I could tell that he was kind of scared when we were waiting for the noodles to cook. To make things even more interesting, we agreed to finish everything in our bowls within a time limit. Playing Taylor Swift's 'Blank Space', we counted to 3 and started....... BOOM!!!Without speaking out loud, we had the same thinking: gobble everything up as fast as possible! Le bf managed to but I stopped with 1/3 left because I was laughing out loud so badly partially because of his face and the spiciness. We did prepare 2 filled water bottles with cold water but it wasn't even enough. Luckily we saved popsicle so for me I was holding the popsicle on one hand while trying to finish the rest of the noodles. I managed to but man... it was then when I realized that what I ate was really FIRE noodles. The taste still lingers even after we ate 2 ice cold popsicles and I teared up immediately! I'm a total fan of spicy food (esp Korean) but this is definitely too much. Thank god we only tried half a packet but the problem now is, what is gonna happen to the 4 other packets that came with the package..........?
How it looks like... DEATH
That's why I'm calling out to anyone I know who wants to attempt the Fire Noodle Challenge to just facebook message or whatsapp me. I think I'll be more than glad to give it away for FREE. By the way, it's SGD$6.90 (sale price) for a package of 5. I got mine at Shine Korea Supermarket at Marina Square so I guess you can purchase it at any Korea store or maybe in supermarkets. So any friend who is up for the challenge... Just let me know alright? ;)
