By the way, the one I had was the one with the old packaging. The teabags are now in super pretty colourful bags with details on the back. Honestly I wanted the new packaging one hahaha. But since its free, no need to be so fussy right?

- TASTE & SMELL -
MORNING BOOST
I'm sure everyone will agree that this is an extremely important factor. I've read reviews on the product before I tried it and I agree that the Morning Boost has a fruity smell to it. As for others saying it tastes like green tea, well... not really to me. It's a hint of green tea (duh, it's one of the ingredients) and its kind of hard to pinpoint what is similar to because it just tastes like a fusion of stuff (which it actually is). Overall, still pretty pleasant to drink every morning.
NIGHT CLEANSE
To be honest, I was slightly taken aback when I saw what the Night Cleanse comprises of in the beginning. I am NOT a fan of ginger and I absolutely HATE lemongrass. I can't even stand the smell of lemongrass, much less drink its products.
Like the Morning Boost, the Night Cleanse has a fusion of many tastes into one. For people who hate lemongrass like me and would like to try this, my advice would be to drink it fresh while it is still really hot so there would be less bad tasting aftereffects by the lemongrass. A hint of peppermint actually makes the tea pretty acceptable in my opinion. No matter what, it always feels good to have some tea before going to bed.
I have been trying out my modified eating plans for quite some time now. What I would go for would be wholegrain products, raw/roasted almonds, fruits and plain water. 5 meals a day, nothing else after dinner. My eating pattern did not change... much besides me changing my usual low-fat no flavoured milk in the morning to Morning Boost.
However, during the weekend which was day 7 and 8, I gave into cravings and ate KFC's Curry Rice Bucket (which was super awesome btw) 2 days in a row... Rather guilty after that. @.@
As for workouts, I was slowly pushing myself as a start but I happened to have a bad muscle strain for I don't know what reason. I was a little sick during that period too which is why I stopped the teatox-ing halfway on day 14. Yeah, loads of things went to the wrong ways during this period :(
DAY 1 (18 Jan, Sunday)
After drinking the Morning Boost, I felt nothing different and ate my 3 main meals without any snacking (don't usually snack during weekends unless I'm outside). After taking the Night Cleanse after dinner, I was super hungry at around 10-11pm and gave in to my hunger with wholemeal biscuits. Not a good start I would say :(
DAY 2 (19 Jan, Monday)
After taking Morning Boost at work with a light breakfast, I skipped my usual mid-morning because I did not feel hungry at all (usually I cannot help but eat because I would be so hungry). Taking a light lunch with a small burger and milk, it helped me curb my hunger all the way until dinner and no more snacking for the rest of the day! Complain free as well! Huge jump from my regular eating patterns!
DAY 3 (20 Jan, Tuesday)
Like day 2, no snacking needed which is amazing because I am normally a hungry monster who craves for yummies every 2-3 hours. I packed my fruits for the afternoon like before in case I get hungry again but it did not happen! All the way to the night, it really helped to curb my hunger. Super satisfied!
DAY 14 (31 Jan, Saturday)
Appetite well curbed throughout my 14 day journey and I simply came to love to taste of both Morning Boost and Night Cleanse (despite disliking it slightly in the beginning)! One thing I noticed too, I tend to fart more often during these 14 days (not afraid to say it at all~). Not sure it's a good thing but you're sort of releasing the gas from your tummy right?
- BEFORE & AFTER -
(BEFORE)
(BEFORE -- AFTER)
Not sure if you can see much difference in pics
All measurements are in inches
And a good thing about working in a clinical environment would be I was able to use a
Body Composition Analyzer
So I would be able to know what kind of weight I am losing
Not going to reveal exact numbers but only the difference before and after
BEFORE - 5 January, Monday
AFTER - 30 January, Friday (day 13)
Fat Mass: -0.4kg
Muscle Mass: -0.9kg
Total Body Water: -0.9kg
Bone Mass: -0.1kg
BMI: -0.5
DEGREE OF OBESITY: From -3.6% to -5.9%
WEIGHT: -1.4kg
Of course there may be hundred and thousands of reasons that can be thrown around as to why I lost more for certain kinds of mass. The one people always talk about would be water mass because that is the easiest to gain back but to me, that's not the whole point.
To me, I think it was because of my muscle strain that caused me to stop exercising for 1.5 weeks so some muscle actually turned into fats and then I was losing some fats at the same time too so the difference is not that big. Hahahaha, sorry maybe I'm just finding excuses.
Besides my own opinion, my peers have also been telling me that I'm beginning to look slimmer in terms of the arms and face wise so... that's really a good thing! I'm always really skeptical about my arms, double chin and belly so it's 2 out of 3 won visually hurray!

- FINAL VERDICT -
So just in case any reader finds this post a little too lengthy, I'm just gonna give the most important answer straightforward...
YES! I do think SKINNYMINT actually helps.
I've always been someone who gives in to cravings alot and I have trouble controlling myself because... hunger controls me. When I am hungry, I tend to be more short-tempered so thank god SkinnyMint helped me to curb my appetite. At the same time I still do feel energetic to carry out my daily tasks and I do feel less bloated. I love that point of it.
I've always been a tea-person so I had no trouble having it daily. It became such a routine that I feel weird not having it after stopping at day 14 hahahah. Suddenly I have to go back to buying low-fat plain milk in the morning.
Especially with the fact that I only managed to work out once during the 14 days and that I went for really sinful food (KFC curry rice bucket 2 days in a row and the spicy noodle challenge (check out the post here) all in 1 weekend), I was quite sure that I would not be able to lose any weight with the diet going out of control halfway during the journey.
To my dear friends out there who messaged me as soon as you found out that I decided to try SkinnyMint and to readers, if you're looking for detox/teatox, SkinnyMint is definitely one you should throw into the list of considerations!
To me, it helped me with my first step towards a healthier lifestyle!
