I'm heading off to Thailand tomorrow! But first, gonna share about yummies before heading off to another land full of more yummies lololol.
I realize that I haven't shared anything about food for quite some time so... here goes! Today's post is gonna be all about 49 Seats! I've been receiving questions about the food and price from those around me so I guess alot of people are really curious about this Western-menu restaurant/cafe?
A giant menu of food! I made my second visit just recently and I remember I couldn't decide what I to order because I wanted all of the appetizers (cheese fries, onion rings, garlic bread, calamari etc).
1st visit's Aglio Olio
It was around my Aglio Olio craze period so I thought that I must try it!
However, it's as normal as it looks, really average
1st visit's Waffle with Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream
Really crispy and delicious waffle and as you can see in the photo,
they give no mercy when spamming chocolate sauce
2nd visit's Tom Yum Pasta (Seafood)
This was one of the chef recommended dishes
so I thought that I had to try it as I'm a fan of Tom Yum!
The sauce had a creamy texture and I love love love it!
The pasta was also really smooth and well cooked
Super thumbs up, I think I'm gonna be ordering this everytime I visit lololol
2nd visit's Smoked Duck Pasta
I couldn't decide to choose this or the Tom Yum Pasta
but since W was having it, just steal some lololol
This is a super must have too because the duck is just out of this world!
Tho now that I think of it, it's kind of unusual for duck to come with pasta?
But it was so good that I don't even care anymore LOL
2nd visit's Fish & Chips
I didn't have time to take a photo because I couldn't wait to eat it lol
Let me just say that I am NOT a fan of fish
You can choose different sauces (I can't remember exactly what) to go along with it
Surprisingly, I found it really good and there's also seafood in the sauce that comes along
Btw, I rarely like fish dishes like Fish & Chips
2nd visit's Banana Split
It just so happened that during our visit, they only had chocolate ice cream left!
So sinful with 3 big scoops but chocolate goes the best with banana right?
Only had this because I was craving for ice cream
Like most places, the Banana Split in 49 Seats is overpriced.
Maybe I'm outdated or what but I didn't know that 49 Seats has actually more than one outlet already (hurrayyyyy)! I went to the one at Tanjong Pajar both times because I happen to be in the vicinity and like a few cafes in Singapore, 49 Seats is a little far from Outram MRT so be ready to take a walk if you're headed there.
Actually, don't head there, there's one at Orchard Central and Bugis+ (just opened). Those places are much convenient. Wheeeee~
Another thing I really like about 49 Seats is their service. When we were served our Fish & Chips, they forgot all about the cheese sauce that we topped up. At that time I was so hungry so I was super sian cursing and swearing at whoever in charge of checking the food. Hahaha yes I'm in the same category with the people who gets cranky when hungry lololol. After informing the waiter, he sincerely apologized and the cashier who took our orders came to apologize as well as our order was not properly sent to the kitchen. Wow... Honestly, I don't see such service in Singapore very often.
The most popular question people have been asking me is about the price of the food. "Is it affordable?"? And the answer is YES, 49 Seats is affordable! Everything except the Banana Split lol. To me, it's something like Eighteen Chefs. The pastas are below $20 and the mains below $30. And yes, their portions are filling.
Btw, W and I shared the Fish & Chips and Banana Split on top of our individual pastas because we are just food monsters :)
As for the food, I would recommend to try the Chef Recommendations first because their recommendations are really the better food (lol comparing the Aglio Olio and the Tom Yum and Smoked Duck Pasta).
