5 of us shared the 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 2 bedroom, 3 washroom resort for less than SGD$50.00 per night! And yes, that's our very own private Jacuzzi just outside on our balcony. One for each bedroom. Super awesome? Besides that, the rooms were all clean and everything in top notch! The downside is that the wifi/3G is really bad, most probably because the resort is on a hill and the water for the Jacuzzi was really cold (swimming pool temperature).
#ootd yi xia lololol
The resort also offers shuttle bus service to 3 different stations around town every hour to a shopping centre and Patong Beach. We caught the bus and started our exploring and settled on our very first Thai food meal for dinner!
A little blurry shots because we were all so hungry that we took the photos really quickly. The dish that stood out was definitely the green curry that was so thick and delicious! I've never been a fan of green curry but that one definitely changed my perspective of it. Along with my ever fav Tom Yum and Pad Thai, everything was perfect!
Patong Beach is indeed the place for nightlife as the place is just full of clubs, pubs and... ping pong show lololol (if you have no idea what that is, google it). The street was full of advertisers for their popular ping pong show and even though they claim that its a free entry, their drinks are marked up to ridiculous prices (900 baht per drink, that's SGD$36.01)! And no, I did not went to watch one lololol. My cousin went and told me.
And one of the highly recommended places to go to at Patong Beach is the club 'Seduction'.
Look at that sky! It rained right after that lololol so we had to head back
Something you don't see in Singapore
It's a van driving around advertising a Muay Thai match
I thought it was a van of male strippers at first LOL
No offense, no offense...
An agency recommended a few packages for us on day 1 for the famous attractions and islands we can visit and were willing to give us cheaper prices. We signed up for the half day James Bond Islandpackage for 2,200 baht (SGD$88.04). I heard there are places in Singapore offering SGD$100++ for the same package so I think we really got a good deal.
But as we were leaving after paying for our package, we found out from another 2 male travelers that the agency people offered them 1,800 baht (SGD$72.03) for the same package! Oh well... remember to ask a male to come along to bargain for a better deal with those female agency workers! :/
We had to wake up early (7am lol, early for me) but thank god all transportation were provided. The package includes a trip to 3 different islands, canoeing and swimming with some beautiful scenery, lunch, transportation and a chance to explore James Bond Island.
Anyone planning to head to Phuket for any kind of water activities like this, do remember to get a dry bag and a waterproof pouch for your phone because those 2 items will be a lifesaver for all your stuff! They do have those items for sale at many places there for very affordable prices so you do not have to invest in them in Singapore and bring it over. I got my dry bag for 200 baht (SGD$8.00) after bargaining and waterproof pouch for my phone for 100 baht (SGD$4.00). The quality is really good and you can always use them again for future activities. It's a really good investment!
Quality of photos may not be good because they were taken by my iphone 5 in my waterproof pouch.
Sitting on a canoe with an instructor who will row you around
You can request to row the canoe for yourself halfway
Into that dark cave that was filled with bats on the ceiling (ewww)
It was really pitch black inside
That opening... was really small!
When the exit of the cave only has a small opening, you have to all lie down on the canoe!
James Bond Island
Shops around the area selling seashells and souvenirs
Then... it began to rain lol. Throughout our time at Phuket, the weather was really unpredictable. It could be cloudy or it may just rain suddenly. While we were canoeing at the islands and as we were leaving James Bond Island, rain just poured like no one's business! All of us were feeling so cold and wet throughout but it made everything so memorable because of that!
Room service for dinner because we were dead tired
First time in my life having room service and probably my last because the food sucked lololol
Third and final day in Phuket, we definitely have to do some water sports! Headed out in the resort bus and had lunch just opposite the road from Patong Beach.
Tom yum againnnnn
I don't have any photos of when I was doing water sports because it was just too exciting. We did parasailing and rode on a jet ski. Paid 2,400 baht (SGD$96.04) in total after bargaining.
It was my first time parasailing and it was quite an experience because I was so high up in the air. After my virgin attempt, I don't think that it was actually worth the money but it's good to just experience it once. It was SGD$40.00++ for that short and kinda anti-climax moment.
It was really funny because when you're going to land onto the shore, the instructors will be blowing the whistle, telling people in the way of landing to move aside. Meanwhile, this crowd of around 7-10 instructors will be just come running toward you trying to help you land. It was just such a funny sight lololol.
My parents and sister told me that we actually jet-ski before during our last Thailand trip (that I have no memory of). But this time, it was so amazing! 5 of us went out on individual jet skis with an instructor behind us. Riding out against the waves, the adrenaline was so amazing when I was kinda "flying" whenever I ride toward the approaching waves.
Then the rain started. AGAIN. LOL. In the middle of the sea, my instructor stopped to lookout for the others but I was too far out. Not wearing spectacles or contact lenses and with the cold wind and water splashing on my face, I couldn't see anyone in the distance. Well, it was because everyone had head back to shore while my instructor and I were trying to find them out there LOL. Last one to return and joined the others, we sat under opened umbrellas as we waited for the rain to stop.
Waiting under the umbrellas, we met a new friend which is just a young chap selling handmade Tuktuks on the beach. He was quietly under the same shelter as us and we eventually had a really nice chat with him. Each Tuktuk he was selling was made by a single Chang beer can. It was so adorable and he even told us about his love story, shedding some tears when we sang his love song.
It was nearing sunset when we returned to the beach after cleaning ourselves back at the resort
The view was simply breathtaking
Our instructors and some of their friends playing soccer on the beach
Somehow at that moment we were jealous at what carefree lives they have as compared to us
Not complaining that my life is a torture but yeah...
Did henna on my fatty papaya shape thigh
Don't judge!
Headed down to streets to get a message with Mint while the others went to do a little shopping and food hunting. We saw this on the way!
They call it 'Fried Ice Cream'
A video of a man making this ice cream for a tourist went viral awhile back on Facebook and finally I tried it! Chocolate banana for me! The ice cream was really soft and it melts in your mouth! It melts really fast too overall so we had to quickly pull the ice cream rows toward the middle of the cup so that it doesn't drip.
Did an hour of foot message and it was so good...
Seafood tom yum for dinner! Really simple dishes for our last day at Phuket. They even had crabs in the mini steamboat (slurp). I only remember that it was really good and boy am I hungry now as I'm typing...
So... that's the end of our adventure at Phuket! The bad weather definitely came at the wrong time but it made our adventure even more memorable. 9 out of 10 people we met were really nice to us and the food was nothing but awesome! You can head over to my Facebook for more photos on the trip. I'll be posting up about Bangkok real soon and reveal a personally made video of the trip so stay tuned alright! ;)
