Travel: Bangkok, Thailand

Hi guyssss!
So let's have a look at Bangkok next for travel diaries! I know probably most of you would've been there. Well, it was kind of my first....

Strong currents by the shores of Phuket
Byebye watersportssss

Here we come Bangkok!

ACCOMMODATION
Villa Asoke
2BR DUPLEX LUXURY @ ASOKE_MRT
(booked by Airbnb)

Is this a hotel or a condominium man...
The security for the place was top notch!
You have to scan your apartment card to gain access into the building and also for the lift

The place consisted of two bedrooms with king/queen-sized beds, 2 toilets connected to the bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a dining area and a flight of stairs connecting the two floors.

It was just too awesome. For people who are skeptical about Airbnb apartments, I'm not so experienced in renting apartments by the website but I can say that this one is super good! Super true to the photos!

I can't comment on how near the villa is from the MRT station tho because I didn't take their public transport. We took Tuktuks and taxis all the time. They were all super cheap that we couldn't help but wonder how they could earn a living.

Even though you have to just drive all the way straight from the villa to reach Platinum Mall, the road is normally jammed and it took us about 30-50 minutes to get there.

PLATINUM MALL
Ratchathewi, Thailand

Platinum shopping mall!
It was my first time and I loved it!
Everything was so affordable!

Not only they have good apparel
The mall also have super good food on its top level!

Traveling around in our Tuktuk!

True Love Cafe

FACEBOOK

Snacks beside the enclosure where the cute doggies roam

Oh my gosh cute!!!

For anyone who is interested in visiting,
Their food are rather meh except for the desserts :)

Wearing our dwarf-looking feet protection gear before we enter the enclosure

Dogs gone crazy over food lololol

Say hi to Momo!

And obviously Yanling would be crazily excited going round taking selfies of the huskies like what she does to the dogs at the animal shelter she volunteers at

His/Her eyes are so beautiful...!

Cheesecakes and ice cream cakes whoooooo!
Each person is entitled to a free slice of any cake of your choice when you pay for entry

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

HELLO KITTY CAFE
Pathum Wan, Bangkok, Thailand
(Located near Siam Square)

Everything Hello Kitty and it's crazy
The same track played the entire time and it became annoying after a few rounds lol

Drinks that were overpoweringly sweet

Rainbow cake that I picked out
The colours just attract me
And in addition, the cake tasted fantastic

Taking a photo with the tumbler as if I'm a fan lol
If anyone's curious, I'm NOT a fan of Hello Kitty (just sayin)
But it was one of my few childhood cartoons so why not right? Hehehe...

AFTER YOU CAFE
WEBSITE   FACEBOOK

All of us did our nails in gradient in different colours
Coincidentally all the colours match our phone casings!

And there it was
The ever famous Shibuya Honey Toast
Now that I think of it, I really regret not getting one entire place of that goodness for solely myself
I mean, IT WAS SO EFFING GOOD!
I'm not a toast/bread person but the toast really blew me off my mind (not literally of course)

I heard that the Shibuya Toast has recently made it to Singapore as well
but the queue for it has been crazy
Probably gonna go down to try it one day myself
Anything to get that awesome thing in my mouth (erm sounds wrong but I guess because it's foodporn!? Hahahahahah. Okay not funneh)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNION MALL
Chatuchak, Thailand

Heading off to Union Mall next! It's like Platinum Mall part II.

OH WAIT
THIS THIS THIS!

I I I
GOTTA SHARE!

Well maybe I'm just an idiot that is outdated
But this place known as Seoul Grill... WAS SO WORTH IT!

Meatttt

And as you saw in the previous few photos, the raw food/ingredients are on the conveyor belt (that Japanese use to bring out sushi in Singapore) and are free for all!
Not only the cheapo food, they had food like liver, clams, fish, prawns etc
FREE FREAKIN' FLOW
+
Sushi, drinks and ice cream
Why doesn't Singapore have something like this???

And wait, it's in MOOKATA style as well
Damn damn damn
The soup was super tasting at the ending

And last and foremost, the most amazing thing is that it was only... 299 baht (SGD11.96)
How are they possibly earning money!??

And for anyone curious, I didn't get any stomachache after, PHEW!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

ROD FAI MARKET
(Also known as Train Market, located near Union Mall)
Thailand, Ratchadaphisek Road, Bangkok

Cafe just for pugs
Yanling just went crazy lololol

A pretty hectic night market but they're stuff were pretty cheap as well!
Dwell along the more quiet streets to find more interesting things such a pet-featured stores, cafes and bars
If you love chilling out at a bar with a live band at night, this is definitely the place to be at

The downside is that the place was really really hot because it was so packed
We were all sweaty and tired that we decided to head back without listening to any live bands

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CHATUCHAK WEEKEND MARKET
(Near Union Mall)

Fried Rice

Tom Yum Soup!

Finally got to have COCONUT ICE CREAM over there!
It was so darn good, it was a pity we only had it once
I heard Singapore finally has this as well but I bet it will be a little pricey

Have your favourite drink as an ice popsicle for just 5 baht (SGD$0.20)!
Really simple for a really cheap price
And it's so Instagram-worthy lololol

Orange juice recommended by Yanling
I'm not a fan of oranges but this was just so good
Small is quite little so I guess I'll get the big one next time

Mazes of things on sale
I did manage to get some stuff for my 21st party that's coming soon, super happy wheeee

Have always wanted to get a denim overall and got it over there for just SGD$10!
Oh my gosh, most places in Singapore sells it for SGD$50.00++

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

TERMINAL 21
2.88 Sukhumvit Soi 19
Sukhumvit Road
North Klongtoei Wattana
Bangkok 10110, Thailand

It was super beautiful
Each floor has a different theme to it

Childhood sweets

Golden Gate Bridge

If you're looking for budget shopping, Terminal 21 isn't really the place because the shops situated there are mostly those that are available in Singapore such as H&M and Victoria's Secret. Prices do not vary much as well. Most stores set their apparels at higher prices too and there are not much sales racks around.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

SIAM GYPSY JUNCTION
Wong Sawang, Bang Sue
Bangkok 10800, Thailand

Time for a break after a long day

Overall, Siam Gypsy Junction isn't for tourists. We hardly (or maybe didn't even) see any tourist around and the locals over there do not speak any form of English at all. The place was rather cool and vintage but I think it really depends whether or not any tourist would enjoy it there.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

And not long after... it was time to head back home...

It was a super comfortable and quick flight on Nokscoot
Their seats were really comfortable and it was a little hard to believe that we are sitting on a budget plane when it was such a good experience
Definitely going by Nokscoot for the next trip to Thailand

Companions for the amazing trip...

My sister

Charlene

Yanling
(& Mint whom I didn't have any photo with)

And to end off, sharing a really short video of the snaps I took during the trip
It doesn't have everything inside but some of the highlights

Looking forward to the next trip soon! :)
