Hope that everyone is enjoying all the angbaos and good food during this festive season! I know this blog is ................. so far this year. Here's a post even though I should be focusing on submissions and tests/exams now hahahaha.
I hardly ever did any favourites entries because I usually don't have that many goodie stuff to share but I'm totally thrilled with my haul recently! They are amazing products that I am so in love with.... So here goes!
ROSES!
Roses from the BF for Valentine's Day (hope everyone had a great time on that day)! I love bouquets wrapped with brown paper rather than the usual cloth material. Along with the small and colourful flowers as details around the borders, I absolutely love this arrangement!
I was about to give up looking for this particular scent until I saw it at the Changi City Point branch! The scent of Johnson's baby powder always brings back memories of when I was a kid and I adore it. Most of the outlets don't have this scent and the staff always seem to be unaware that this scent even exists when I inquired.
I went to about 3 different outlets and failed to find it. Just when I was about to give up... I chanced upon it! Well, I guess sometimes you find things you're looking for so easily when you're not searching hard for it.
Yankee Candle's Baby Powder scent does not smell exactly like Johnson's baby powder by the way... But it's still pretty awesome!
Just strolling around SEPHORA awhile back with a friend and we wondered how can a lip balm/treatment be so expensive. Then I saw a review on this product on youtube and decided to give it a try. Man... I know I said that the EOS Strawberry Sorbet lip balm was good, this one is even better.
And I hardly say this, THIS PRODUCT IS WORTH ITS PRICE. It's well scented, easy to apply and the best of all, it lasts really really long. During the busy school days, I never forget to apply it to add a little colour on my lips because I'm basically almost makeup-less (I only have primer on).
I have been going on and on about wanting NARS products ever since.... I can't even remember when because it has just been so long! Probably due to influences from youtube beauty tutorials/videos, I really wanted to try NARS. The downside is that the products are only sold in town area and I have been too busy to head there. In case anyone wants to know, the only SEPHORA branch that sells NARS products is the one at Orchard Ion. And sadly, I hardly go to that area.
If you're new to my makeup routine, I always use AMAZINGCOSMETIC's AmazingConcealer. That concealer is amazing but now I'm using it alongside this one from NARS.
This radiant creamy concealer is really easy to apply with its applicator and its really smooth on the skin. Coverage is good. For me, I like to cover the unflattering redness of the areas beside my nose and this covers everything naturally.
NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
In shade MEDIUM 2, SANTA FE - SGD$72.00
I used to use LANEIGE's foundation but I've replaced it from my routine with this one from NARS right after trying this one out the first time. I also chose to try this because of youtube reviews.
NARS currently has 2 kinds of foundation - the Sheer Glow and the All-day Luminous Weightless. The saleslady who assisted me during my purchase actually told me that the Sheer Glow gives a more healthy glow to the skin and provides partial coverage while the All-day Luminous Weightless one is for full coverage and a matte finish.
Honestly, it's all about the type of skin you have that determines which is more suitable for you. For me, I do have dry and slightly oily skin so the lady recommended me to get the Sheer Glow for a more glow-y and healthy finish.
If you're unsure which is more suitable for you or which shade is for your skintone, it's probably easier for you to approach an assistant in the store like what I did. Let's admit, NARS products are absolutely NOT cheap. Imagine getting home all happy about your new gorgeous product only to find out that you actually purchased the wrong shade. All hell breaks loose and you can start pulling your hair.
I got this product shortly before Chinese New Year and have applied it quite a few times now. This product has NOT disappoint and it really lasts the entire day! I know this because I can see the amount of product left on my face at the end of the day when I remove it using a makeup remover wipe. Loving this product!
Oh and a really important thing to take note if you're considering to purchase this product:
Do note that the original product does NOT come with a pump (which means you have to pour).
Yes, it's a silly design but it's just like that. You have to invest in an additional SGD$10.00 for the pump that I got (in the photo above). I heard that the pump is usually OOS online so I suggest you get it if you can. Don't worry, the pump has a lock-unlock mechanism simply by turning the pump head left (lock) and right (unlock).
Do know that the original cap for the bottle will NOT be able to fit after you have attached the pump. You can only select one to use at a time - the pump or the cap.
MAKEUP REVOLUTION - Ultra Cream Contour From PUCKERSG - SGD$21.90
After trying the powdered contour palette from AUSTRALIS, I decided to give a cream one a try. Another product I tell myself why not because it is so affordable on PUCKER hahah.
The idea of cream made me doubtful but it turned out easy to blend. It goes on really smooth upon application and then blends away very easily. I have to say it's better than the powder one I used to use. Gosh so many products replacing the ones on my routine hahaha. The packaging is also really classy which is also a total plus point!
Its such a joy to share all about these products I've been raving about. I know I've been spending a little too much and these products are a little more expensive than the ones I normally share about. Probably this is one of the signs that I'm getting older and more adult? Investing more on such things? Oh em gee... @.@
And... back to reality full of submission and tests. Enjoy the week guys!
