Shiberty Bakes!

34
Hellooooooo!

One week of holiday is definitely NOT enough. It's back to a brand new term of school again tomorrow but let's talk about yummy food first before I get too busy. Again. #universitystudentlife

Anyways, as the title of this post says, I'm gonna be talking about the cafe Shiberty Bakes! I've always fancied the cakes and desserts made by blogger Jessica Loh (a.k.a Shiberty) and her instagram posts always light up my feed with colours and desserts that make me hungry (tho I'm not really a dessert person). I almost engaged her for my 21st birthday cake too but decided not to because it was out of my budget.

Ever since Shiberty Bakes' physical store opened, I've always wanted to give it a try because their desserts look so yummy and the portions look super super generous. Curious to find out more? Go search #shibertybakes on Instagram!

Super generously and gorgeously decorated desserts
definitely make it an insta-worthy moment too keke!

Prices were pretty average. Around the same range as other cafes in Singapore. But the portions they serve definitely made it worth the price!

Oh and remember about the delicious honey butter toast from 'After You' cafe in Bangkok? They serve a similar one at Shiberty Bakes

LOOK. AT. THAT.

The toast comes in classic, rocher and matcha options and we got the rocher one. Served with Hazelnut and Cookies & Cream ice cream, actual Kinder Bueno, Hersheys and marshmallow! Totally worth it right!? They even have little gold shavings over the chocolate to give it this really classic look. So amazed that we spent a good few minutes trying hard to get the best tumblr/instagram-ish shot of it! #typicalsingaporeans

It doesn't only look good, it tasted hella good! The toast had this crispy outer layer that allows you to cut the pieces easily and the inside is just soft and buttery! The texture was so perfect and with the soft serve of delicious ice cream (both my fav flavours), it was heavenly. Every taste and crisp just seemed to match and compliment each other.

The drink on the side is the strawberry milkshake with small marshmallows with sprinkles on the side (sort of for decorative purposes I guess). I hesitated at first because I don't really fancy very milky drinks but this one was just nice and the taste was not too strong or sweet.

So for people who do not have the sweet tooth (like me), I think the options I chose was not too bad.

Shiberty Bakes is definitely a hotspot for cafe hoppers!

Just a short walk from Farrer Park MRT station. Locate Owen Road when you exit the station and walk straight down the long stretch of shop houses. You will see a field on the left at the end. Just keep walking straight until you see HDB blocks. Block 46 will be the first one you see in white and orange. It's about a 10-15 minute walk.

Can't wait for my next visit to try out other stuff on their menu!
