Milly's!

34
Hi there!

Feeling so lucky lately from new opportunities after feeling down for quite sometime. I am so grateful for them and for the peeps who have been super supportive.

So about a few months back I made a last minute decision to try out eyelash extensions the very day I celebrated my 22nd birthday at 1Altitude. It was such a great night... Anyway, I'm just here today to share about my first experience with the lashes.

I have never gone beyond anything above mascara before and it hasn't really been very long since I've learnt how to apply it because I always felt that it was a hassle. Just a side note too, I have never worn/tried false lashes.

A "before" snap
My lashes looked so non-existent HAHA
Oh yeah... & I miss my rainbow hair...

So since I was in Bugis that very day, I decided to head over to Milly's to try out eyelash extensions! I've heard about them from so many places and I felt I could only trust my first time to some place I really trust.

So after discussing with the beautician, she discouraged me to jump straight to cluster one and advised me to go for single lashes because I'm pretty new to the whole concept of "extra" lashes.

The process took about an hour and I loved the outcome!

Finally visible lashes that really changed my whole look! I loved it so much until the time came that I had to take care of it. HAHAHA.

The lashes were so delicate but they came off quite easily. And yes, because of this, they do advice for a touch-up a week after putting the lashes on but I was too busy (actually probably also lazy) to head back for it.

I think it was about 4 weeks later when the lashes started to look so weird because only half of them were still there HAHAH.

The day before I went for another appointment for new lashes
Lmao the leftover lashes look like cockroach fillers?

So just one fine day I got a message saying that I was chosen for an ad shoot for Milly's social media. I was super happy because the day they allocated the session was the only day I had no school so I was quite free to head down!

So after some reading up on the lashes and reviews, I decided I was ready to take on the cluster lashes and chose to do the BLACK DIAMOND A lashes in super sexy shape.

After the natural look from the single lashes before, I wanted something bolder so...

Love it so much! Again, I know, I have no other word to describe how much I love them.

And yes, I'm still adapting to dark coloured hair as well. So many people have been telling me I look older but hey, maybe I have to start looking a bit more my age. Anyway, I'm can't the judge for that but I'm getting really used to it these days.

So back to the topic of cluster lashes, I finally understood why the beautician before told me not to go for it for my first time.

Unlike the single lashes that are really smooth and added kinda next to your own lashes, cluster lashes are placed on your eyelids like falsies and they are really stiff. Cluster lashes do not fall off as easily as the single ones but when a small part drops, the hole in between the site of attachment is quite obvious!

But overall, still easier to take care of as compared to single lashes in my opinion. They give sort of an eyeliner effect too so it looks like I have eyeliner on 24/7 and that means I can save time when I head out for morning lessons!

And... about a week or so, my lashes were featured on Milly's Instagram & Facebook!

I know I should have gone to fix my brows before the shoot
But oh wells~ busy (and lazy) person over here
The eyeliner effect is super obvious
I had zero eye makeup here btw, looked shag and tired before but wide awake after

And in case anyone is wondering, the contacts I wore were 'Zelia Blue' from Polkadotz Lens. I bought a whole bunch of contacts from them awhile back and I'm really happy with how comfortable and sort of natural looking they are.

Anyways, I hope to anyone out there who's wondering how it's like to have eyelash extensions done, you would find my post useful. So many of my friends have been asking ever since I got them.

I would really recommend Milly's because the staff are really friendly and they have branches in really convenient areas especially in town! Which is really near my school so +1 convenience factor for me. My first impression was that the place is super atas (high class) looking! And I was so comfortable that I almost fell asleep during my session. It's kind of embarrassing actually when I think about it.

They also have nail, waxing and hair extension services so it's just one destination to glamour yourself in soooooo many different ways.

I would like to say a big thank you for Milly's for this opportunity. I'm hoping to head back to try out other kinds of lashes in the near future!
