Today's just one of those days when I take a walk down the memory lane. Girl group 2NE1 disbanded November 2016 but they just released their final single as a farewell to their fans.
I was never really on the whole k-pop craze bandwagon and 2NE1 was one out of the few k-pop groups that I kept taps on for new music over the years (others are only the classic Big Bang, Brown Eyed Girls & 4minute that unfortunately also disbanded).
I was never into the girly and always talking about boys kind of music. My kind of lyrics is more of the loud and self-empowering ones, so to me, 2NE1's music was perfect. I've been a fan ever since their debut in 2009 when I was only 15 y/o. I remember the very first song I heard was 'lollipop', that was even before they officially debut.
'Ugly' is a really special song to me. When you're in a shitty situation or when you're feeling really low, it feels really good to know that that someone out there understands how you feel. There was a relatable feel with every verse of that song. It was comfort.
Also, I'm so grateful for them as they helped me find passion in fashion. There was always something new and fresh whenever they appear in magazines and in the different music videos.
So one last time, right here, I just want to say that I'm glad to have 2NE1 blessing me with awesome music, music videos, variety shows and inspiration for the past 7 years.
I'll still be waiting patiently for their solo activities. CL's 'Lifted' single is gold afterall.
